SDB was incorporated in Arizona, January of 1981, and for over 27 years has been a family-owned business.
In 1981, SDB landed a job for Motorola, Inc., to renovate a small office. While at the facility, SDB recognized the intensive amount of on-going construction occurring and decided to focus all resources in the cleanroom manufacturing environment. SDB went on to become the valley's
Most Recognized Cleanroom Contractor, 5-years in a row (Arizona Business Magazine rankings). working for such clients as Motorola, STMicroelectronics, On-Semiconductor, and Rodel Corporation to name a few. For these clients SDB has performed projects ranging from complete new fabrication facilities, such as
Motorola's MOS 21M, an $80 M—40,000 square foot—class 10 cleanroom; to $100.00 door hardware repairs.
Since 1991 SDB has expanded its client focus beyond the high-technology environment. Some of these new markets include:
- Facilities Contracting, for clients such as Salt River Project, Northrup Grumman and Chandler Regional Hospital.
- Industrial Contracting, including water/wastewater, grading, paving and underground utilities, and industrial fueling systems.
- Job Order (ID\IQ) Contracting, for clients such as the City of Chandler, City of Surprise, Paradise Valley Unified School District, Scottsdale Unified School District, Washington Elementary School District and Maricopa County.
- General Contracting, for clients like Cigna Health Care & Gilbert Public School District;
