The Tucson Veterans Home is the first of its kind in the State of Arizona and a national standard for future veteran's homes built throughout the United States. The 130,000 square foot facility houses up to 120 occupants with accommodations such as single dwelling units, activity rooms, common dining areas, rehabilitation facility, outdoor courtyard space, and a memory garden in the mental health wing. The home is located adjacent to the Tucson Veterans Hospital and has a 24-hour staff to care for Veterans with health related problems. The facility was designed to be a residential concept as well a place for rehabilitation. The concept of the home is to provide Veteran residents with a living environment that is comfortable and practical with resources to help those in transition as well as those with long-term healthcare needs.
