The AJHS Culinary Art Program curriculum covers the basics of food production, preparation, and presentation procedures for a career in the foodservice industry. The Culinary building features a fully-equipped kitchen, workstations, sub-zero refrigerators, ovens and state of the art appliances, including blenders, food processors and microwaves. This 4,270 SF Culinary Kitchen is set up to accommodate 30 students in each class, with overhead flat screen monitors that allow all students to easily see and hear the Culinary teacher's instructions and demonstrations.
SDB's scope of work included selective demolition, reconfiguration of the existing space into a full scale culinary kitchen, new electrical structure to accommodate the increased electric load, reworking the air conditioning, reworking the roof drains, coordination and installation of commercial grade appliances and appropriate ventilation systems, new fire sprinkler system, floor resurfacing, new paint, ADA upgrades, new grease trap installation, and various civil site work.
